We believe that an interdisciplinary, collaborative, and visual approach to climate science is much more effective in communicating with the public, stakeholders, and policy-makers. By merging the analytical power of science with the emotive power of art, we can transform how the world sees—and responds to—the climate crisis.

About Picturing Climate Network

The Picturing Climate Network is an independent, international collective that brings together media artists, climate change scientists, curators, communities, and other interrelated stakeholders. We are a borderless, cross-institutional platform united by a shared interest: finding novel, creative ways to visualise and communicate climate change research.

We are committed to enhancing connections between artistic practice and climate science.

It not only helps communicate science, but also actively enriches the research process itself.

Consultations

PCN members, as active researchers, are always eager to collaborate on initiatives focused on improving communication about climate science, climate change, and climate adaptation. Our researchers are affiliated with institutions eligible for funding and lead interdisciplinary Work Packages (WPs).

Our researchers disseminate findings across disciplines and aim to network with other researchers, organisations, and partners to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.

Core network members are always eager to provide consultation on best practices for interdisciplinary initiatives in art, science, and entrepreneurship. Our collective expertise can improve project delivery by introducing innovative research and methodologies to organisations that aim to enhance their communication with the public.

Want to collaborate with us?

The Picturing Climate Network includes dedicated researchers in art, science, interdisciplinary studies, and entrepreneurial studies. We actively engage in our fields and aim to contribute to projects that align with the network's goals.

Global Reach
(Our Hubs)

While the network itself serves as an overarching hub for shared research and collaboration, our members and activities are deeply embedded within leading institutions worldwide.

Because of our cross-university nature, specific research activities and pilot projects may be hosted by or aligned with individual partner universities and supported by distinct funding bodies, such as UKRI and Horizon Funding. However, the Picturing Climate Network remains our shared, central home—a dedicated space for social networking, instigating collaborative research projects, disseminating resources, and highlighting pilot projects across all borders and institutions.

We are constantly seeking new connections to grow our core community of interdisciplinary researchers. See our Project pages for more details on active research projects and collaborations.

The Picturing Climate Network is a community-led project initiated by Dr. Mark Kasumovic.

Individual projects are supported by various funding councils, each acknowledged within its project site.

EvoDocs UK is a specialised research-oriented communication production company (video/photography/media). It is grounded within the research emanating from the PCN, specialising in providing high-quality, innovative communication tools for other projects, individuals and research organisations.
